Rivista di filosofia XXII/2001/2
D.J. Den Uyl, D.B. Rasmussen The article aims to show that there can be a connection between the natural law and the natural rights traditions. The Authors begin by evaluating the ways in which natural rights have been traditionally thought to be an extension of natural law. This discussion also includes some mention of the ways in which advocates of natural rights have failed to appreciate this connection or have directly undermined it. Then they examine how human flourishing has been conceived by both traditional and so-called ÒnewÓ natural law theorists. Finally, they outline their own argument for connecting natural law and natural rights.
